Nike - Official sportswear partner of the Bupa Great Run Series

Objectives

  • To inspire and empower new and existing communications with Nike+
  • To enhance the event experience of a Bupa Great runner
  • To reward Bupa Great runners post-event

Execution

  • Nike+ results – additional split times on the course. Nike has put additional timing mats on our courses to offer runners the opportunity to get their split times post-event. To do this, they go to their result at www.greatrun.org post-event. “See your run powered by Nike+” which shows them a graph of their pace over the course of the race.
  • "Powersong" – An innovation that Nike has introduced to Bupa GreatRun events. Powersong is special section of the course, usually situated close to the finish and designed to give runners a vital extra boost. Lines of loud-speakers along the side of the road create a tunnel of wall-to-wall sound playing motivational music tracks.
  • Nike+ VIP runners – This comfort zone for Nike+ users situated near the finish, provides docking stations for Nike+ equipment and music, brilliant food, a chill-out area and massage. There are loads of spot prizes too, including promotional cards that offer free trainers to runners who have worn out their footwear.
