The Bupa Great Edinburgh Run has been a permanent fixture in Scotland's capital city since 2005.
In previous years it has featured a 5k and 10k course, but we're excited to announce for 2014 a brand new 10-mile distance that features The Royal Mile, Scott Monument and Edinburgh Castle.
Last year's Bupa Great Edinburgh Run saw thousands of participants enjoy spectacular views in the summer sunshine on a day that included the Bupa Junior and Mini Great Edinburgh Runs. This year we're hoping to put a spring in the step of all our runners as we move the event forward to 27 April.
The distance represents a perfect middle marker for runners looking to step up or cool down their half marathon or marathon training, whilst also providing a valuable test for those looking to improve their performance and times over shorter distances in the summer.
This really is a unique opportunity to see everything Edinburgh has to offer. Recently voted the second best city to call home in Britain, you’ll be taking in the wild and dramatic natural world of Arthur’s Seat and Duddingston Loch having already experienced the rich history and man-made beauty in the city centre.
