Join us for a fantastic day of running for all the family on Saturday 5 January in Holyrood park, Edinburgh. The day starts as hundreds of youngsters part in the 2.5k Bupa Junior Great Winter Run followed by thousands of runners making their traditional start to the 2013 running season with the 5k Bupa Great Winter Run.

All runners will receive long sleeved souvenir Bupa Great Winter Run t shirt, medal, electronic timing, finishers pack as well as the fantastic atmosphere and excellent organisation you would expect at a Bupa Great run event.

If you're taking part in the Bupa Great Winter Run make sure you stick around to welcome some of the world’s best athletes to the beautiful surroundings of Holyrood Park in the afternoon for the Bupa Great Edinburgh X Country. The event is televised live on BBC One and is free to spectate. We have a big screen in the park this year so you won't miss a second of the action. Athletes competing have yet to be announced but there are sure to include a few medal winners from London 2012.

Plus putting runners’ taste buds through their paces, the Gourmet Food Court will provide a range of quality food using fresh ingredients for runners to enjoy after working up an appetite earlier in the day.
