The popular Bupa Great Edinburgh Run will move from its traditional date in May to Sunday 2 October 2011, making it the perfect goal to keep you running in 2011.
We have 30 years experience of organising great running events, we organise the world’s biggest half marathon the Bupa Great North Run so you can be assured of fantastic atmosphere, great sense of achievement and exceptional organisation.
There was an electric atmosphere in 2010 as 10,000 runners welcomed the Bupa Great Edinburgh Run to its new home, which started and finished in the beautiful surroundings of Holyrood Park, Edinburgh.
Thousands of runners of all abilities enjoyed a beautiful day in the Scottish Capital which provided near perfect running conditions for all taking part.
The 10km route captures many of Edinburgh’s most famous historic attractions and is regarded by many as one of the most scenic city centre running events in the world as it passes Edinburgh Castle, the famous cobbles of the Royal Mile, The Scottish Parliament Building.

Race entry is £26.55 and includes Race number and full information pack sent to you approximately two weeks before the event Quality event T-Shirt, Computer chip timing for a completely accurate running time, which will show your time from crossing the start line to crossing the finish line as well as your official gun time Souvenir finisher's medal, Powerade Sports drink, Aqua Pura water and finisher's pack plus a fantastic atmosphere, excellent organisation and great sense of achievement.
Bupa Junior & Mini Great Edinburgh Run
The day also includes the Bupa Junior & Mini Great Edinburgh Run making it a great day of running for the whole family. The mini event is for children aged 3 – 8 years covering 1.5km and the junior event for youngsters aged 9 – 14 years covering 2.5km.
In 2010 the 10km city centre event was live on channel five for 90 minutes and there was an hour highlights programme on BBC2 Scotland on the evening of the event. The TV coverage included pictures from helicopters that were spanning the city providing perfect panoramic views showing Edinburgh at its very best.
