Junior and Mini Great South Run

Every year 2,500 young runners warm up the streets of Southsea at the Junior and Mini Great South Run, the biggest children's running event in the South, with 1.5k and 2.5k courses for ages 3-8 and 9-15 respectively.

All Junior and Mini runners will receive their very own running t-shirt, a goodie-filled finisher’s pack and that all-important medal.

Down By The Seaside Fancy Dress

Sailor or surfer, mermaid or shark, pirate or fisherman …. this year celebrate everything that’s good about living by the coast as we are holding a seaside themed fancy dress competition at the Junior and Mini Great South Run!

Run your 1.5k or 2.5k course dressed as your favourite character that you’d find at sea for the chance to win spot prizes on the day… and don’t worry mums and dads... you can get involved in the fun too.

Mini runners then turn right into Serpentine Way while Junior runners head up to a turnaround point next to Mozzarella Joes. Both runs then head up Serpentine Way and down Lady’s Mile to reach Avenue De Caen. The kids then head for the finish back on Clarence Esplanade.
