Free to spectate, live on BBC One from 13:15 and shown on the big screen in Holyood Park, you won’t miss a leap, lap or sprint finish at next year’s Great Edinburgh XCountry on Saturday 7 January.
The Great Edinburgh XCountry consists of four separate events and pits the best of Team GB& NI against Europe and the USA.
Athletes compete across four races; the junior men’s 6km, the junior women’s 4km, senior men’s 8km and senior women’s 6km.
The overall winning team will be determined by the best aggregate finishing positions of the six best placed athletes in the senior category, as well as the four best placed athletes in the junior races.
The event will also see the return of the innovative International Mixed Relay event which will see national teams of four (two men and two women) compete in a 4x1k challenge for the Stewart Cup.
For the most entertaining post-run recovery you'll ever have, watch some of the world’s best athletes stride over the mud and hills while you’re wrapped up warm and tucking into hot food and drink.
If you are competing, make sure you bring a change of clothing, wear plenty of layers and stick around to cheer on past, present and future Olympic heroes in Holyrood Park.
