Newly designated UK Superbrand, Arcadis, has teamed up with the UK's biggest mass participation running series, Great Run, to become the official City Development Partner in four of their key cities across the UK.

The agreement covers the Simplyhealth Great Edinburgh Run, the Simplyhealth Great Team Relay, the Simplyhealth Great Bristol Half Marathon and the Simplyhealth Great Birmingham Run, as well as becoming title sponsor of the Business Challenge events in Bristol and Edinburgh.

Arcadis is also the new title sponsor of the innovative Great CityGames Manchester. The live, city-centre athletics event features a purpose built sprint track on Deansgate and a pop-up athletics arena in Albert Square in the heart of the city.

The event is completely free to spectate and will include performances from some of the worlds best athletes. Taking place on the evening of Friday 26 May, the Arcadis Great CityGames Manchester takes athletics out of the stadium and gives thousands of spectators the opportunity to experience the sport from a unique perspective.

Simon Light, Client Development Director of Arcadis, commented: “Our business is at the forefront of making Britain's cities better places for their people and businesses. So, by partnering with the Great Run Company and helping them to create events around the country, we're taking this a step further.

“Not only will the events improve wellbeing, but the running routes themselves will showcase some of the regeneration work that our people are doing to improve quality of life around the UK.”

Brendan Foster, Chairman and Founder of the Great Run Company, said: “We are delighted to have Arcadis on board as our new City Development Partner and as title sponsor of the Great CityGames Manchester.

“Like us, Arcadis believes people should be proud of and be able to celebrate their cities, we're looking forward to welcoming their staff and partners to our events.”

The partnership will kick off with the Arcadis Business Challenge at the Simplyhealth Great Edinburgh Run on Sunday 23 April.
