THE England 2017 Half Marathon and 10 Mile Road Championships this autumn will once again be in partnership with the popular Simplyhealth Great North Run and Great South Run events.

The Simplyhealth Great North Run half marathon takes place between Newcastle and South Shields on Sunday 10 September, while the Simplyhealth Great South Run 10-mile event will be staged in Portsmouth on Sunday 22 October.

England Athletics will be awarding Championship medals on the day to the top three eligible individuals.  In addition, the top English athletes will be offered the opportunity to compete for England in a road international off the back of performances on the day, subject to meeting England qualifying standards.

Selection policies for these events and further information will be provided nearer the time, but the Great North Run provides a high quality race experience and a great opportunity for aspiring English athletes to gain an international vest.

Elite athlete standards as per The Great North Run also apply.  Furthermore, athletes who do not meet the required entry standards for Great South Run but are a member of an England Athletics affiliated club should contact Andy Nixon  to apply for a club runner fast pace entry.

These entries are payable on entry but will guarantee the athlete a position in the starting wave at the head of the race, just behind the elite wave. The closing date for this is 8 October.
