Birmingham Ecommerce Agency To Tackle Half Marathon

Womens Running

A team of 18 runners from Birmingham based e-commerce agency, Eastside Co, have committed to raising £2,000 for homeless charity Sifa Fireside by taking part in this year’s Simplyhealth Birmingham Great Run half marathon.

The team are currently lacing their running shoes and powering through a gruelling training regime to support Eastside Co’s Digbeth neighbour, Sifa Fireside. The charity runs a day centre to help improve life skills, employment and health to the region’s homeless, which costs more than £1million a year to run, with donations forming a significant part of their funding. It is run by a number of staff and volunteers who are committed to helping vulnerable people within Birmingham city centre and surrounding areas.

Jason Stokes, founder of Eastside Co, said: “We’re a Birmingham-based business through and through, employing more than 60 people in the city, so we’re always looking for ways to give back to our local community.

“We’ve known the team at Sifa Fireside for a number of years since opening our headquarters at the Custard Factory. We’re proud to be able to represent the charity and highlight the outstanding work it does for homeless and vulnerable people in the region.”

Eastside Co, established in 2013, works with businesses around the world to design and develop bespoke e-commerce sites and apps on the most scalable platforms – Shopify and Shopify Plus. The agency also provides digital marketing expertise for retail brands that embrace advances in technology to make their customers’ lives easier.

Melissa Roche, fundraising and corporate manager at Sifa Fireside, said: “Our day centre can work with up to 150 people per day, which is why fundraising is so important to our organisation.

“There’s so much goodwill in Birmingham, which has been proven by the dedicated team at Eastside Co, who are giving up their time to raise money for our charity by undertaking this gruelling challenge. The money raised will enable us to keep doing what we do best – giving a safe space for those who need it.”
