Elite Entry into Great Run Events
Please note that we have a separate policy for the Simplyhealth Great North Run, see further below.
A limited number of complimentary entries will be available for each Great Run event for athletes who have achieved the elite performance criteria, detailed below.
Elite Performance Criteria
Elite Entry Request Information
- Race for which elite entry is requested
- Full Name
- Date of birth
- Unique Registration Number (URN)
- Current Residence
- Email Address
- Details of qualifying performances - when and where
Any athlete wishing to be considered for elite entry should have achieved the elite performance criteria (at any distance) since January 1st of the previous year. Please be aware that achieving the elite performance criteria does not guarantee elite entry into any Great Run Event as places are limited and complimentary entries are allocated at our discretion.

We validate all performances against the Power of 10 website and other official race results.
As elite places are limited we recommend athletes apply early to avoid disappointment. Elite entries for all events will close approx. 4 weeks before the event date.
Guaranteed Entries for the Simplyhealth Great North Run
We have a limited number of guaranteed fast pace entries available for club athletes. These are available at the standard event entry price.
Any athlete wishing to be considered for a guaranteed fast pace entry should email firstname.lastname@example.org. As with all Great Run events, your qualifying performance should have been achieved since January 1st of the previous year.
