Competitive Wheelchair Athletes

Please note that we have specific regulations around racing wheelchairs and standard day chairs to ensure a safe run for all participants.

  • Wheelchair athletes participating competitively (and therefore eligible for prize money) must do so in racing wheelchairs and must start at the front of the race.  This is due to the speed at which wheelchair athletes are likely to travel.
  • Participants in standard day wheelchairs should start toward the back of the mass participation waves, again this is due to the speed at which they are likely to travel.

The following events offer prize money for racing wheelchair athletes.  Only wheelchair athletes in racing wheelchairs are counted in the elite wheelchair race and are therefore eligible for any prize money on offer.
