If stunning views, inspiring history and graffiti murals are your thing, then the Great Bristol Run is right up your street. It’s not just the inspiring scenery that attracts runners from far and wide; the start line DJ, rocking on-course music zones and post-race celebrations create an unbeatable atmosphere. Each year, thousands of runners take to the streets of Bristol to take on the challenge – will you join us in 2024?

The 10k route starts in the city centre and takes runners past the vibrant waterfront before crossing on to Spike Island, through Wapping Wharf and a loop around the beautiful Queen Square which marks the half way point – runners then cross over into Redcliffe before rounding the historical Castle Park on a final section through Old City, before the grandstand finish on Anchor Road.
The Half marathon route takes runners past the vibrant waterfront and out along the beautiful and peaceful Avon Gorge passing under the world famous Clifton Suspension Bridge, before joining the 10k route at Spike Island.

We have made the decision to introduce optional finisher tees to our Great Run events for 2023. You can choose to forgo you finisher tee shirt at the point of entry, and in lieu of this we will make a donation to the National Trust Woodlands Appeal. Find out more here.
We will donate a portion of the fulfilment costs for each runner who chooses this option to the fund and commit that this donation to be a minimum of £20,000 in 2023.

St Peter’s Hospice is the Bristol area’s only adult Hospice. We care for local patients with life-limiting illnesses and their family members. Our care is provided free of charge at the point of service, however, it costs over £20,000 a day to provide all the incredible services that we do, in people’s homes, at our Hospice in Brentry, and across the greater Bristol community.
