The half marathon has now SOLD OUT, don’t miss out on the 10k!

This year’s half marathon is now full, but don’t worry if you’ve missed out…. You can still be part of an incredible event by signing up to the 10k. You’ll need to be quick though because we are now close to the 10k entry limit and there are less than 500 places.

There are also still a limited number of half marathon charity places available. Browse the list of charities below.

Loved by Bristolians and beyond, the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run is known as the best in the South West – and for good reason. Each year, thousands of runners push their perseverance and passion to the limit and take on Bristol’s super-scenic 10k and half marathon routes. If stunning views, inspiring history and graffiti murals are your thing, then the Great Bristol Run is right up your street. Starting in the heart of the city, runners will pass some of the city’s most iconic landmarks and hear the incredible local support all along the route, before a grandstand finish in Millennium Square. But it’s not just the inspiring scenery that attracts runners from far and wide: the fast, flat course also makes this running event perfect for those on the hunt for a new personal best – or just looking to get to the finish line!

In partnership with VI Runners Bristol we are excited to stage the VI Runners 10K Challenge at the event again in 2024, for people registered as severely sight impaired (previously “blind”). Full details, including how to enter, can be found on the information page here.

AJ Bell Great Bristol Run entries are open to runners aged 15+ (10k) and 17+ (Half marathon) on the day of the event.  A booking fee (£2 per entry) is applied at checkout.

Power of Running

We believe in the Power of Running. For Great Run series ambassador and elite athlete, Eilish McColgan, running has always been a part of her life, and the Great Run events have been a proud part of her journey.

Everyone who signs up for the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run is a runner, regardless of finish time, and everyone has their reason for running. In our Power of Running campaign, we are bringing to life some of the amazing stories behind the tens of thousands of runners who line up on the start line each year. Tell us about your running story, and you could be featured in our campaign.

St Peter’s Hospice is the Bristol area’s only adult Hospice. We care for local patients with life-limiting illnesses and their family members. Our care is provided free of charge at the point of service, however, it costs over £20,000 a day to provide all the incredible services that we do, in people’s homes, at our Hospice in Brentry, and across the greater Bristol community. We rely on our retails shops, gifts in wills and local people to fundraise for us. Running for your Hospice is a great way to support! For more information, visit our website.
