You can give a deaf person their independence by helping to train one of our amazing dogs to alert them to sounds they would otherwise have missed like the alarm clock or a lifesaving smoke alarm. You can help a deaf person gain the confidence they need to escape the isolation that deafness can bring. You can help a deaf person get the emotional support and companionship they need to get back out and about and feel part of their community again. Last year, more than 400 children and young people with life-shortening conditions, and their families, received support from Martin House Hospice Care. In addition, we supported 170 bereaved families following the death of their child. We'll be there for those that need us this year too. We want to help families from diagnosis, helping children and young people to live well and fully, offering the best possible end of life care and support to the family in bereavement.
