Training for 5 weeks to a 5K is a great way to start or improve your running this winter.

If you’re looking to get a head start of the New Year resolutions then why not set yourself a 5k goal that will plough you through this December?

5k is an achievable goal to get into running and is a very attainable distance for new starters.

This Great Run training plan starts on Monday 11 December and is a walk/run plan designed to get a beginner, or someone who is looking to make a return to running, ready to run a 5k in just over a month (and it even includes a rest day on Christmas Day!)
