Go the Egg-stra
This month we challenge you to go the egg-stra mile and put a spring in your step for a fantastic month of virtual running. No one needs an eggs–cuse to eat chocolate, so with longer daylight hours this month we reckon that we can not only challenge ourselves to a few eggs-tra miles, but I’m sure we can fit in a few eggs-tra treats too.
Complete the ‘sweet 16’ runs (or more) and you will be rewarded with a unique finisher’s medal and digital certificate. There’s also an optional distance challenge, with a bespoke digital certificate awarded to anyone who completes a distance award.
The challenge starts on 1 April and ends on 30 April. Don’t be an April Fool, make sure you get signed up to this month’s challenge in order to receive a cracking medal!
Entries are now closed.
Complete 16 runs in April
Spring into action this April! Complete 16 runs (or more) of any distance and any pace that is comfortable for you.
Optional accumulator distance award
Depending on the distance you cover over your 16 (or more!) runs, we will award you a bespoke digital finishers certificate to download and share. Inspired by this month’s theme, the distance awards this month are truly eggs-cellent!
It’s a marathon not a sprint – 26.2 miles
You’re a good egg – 50 miles
Spring chicken – 75 miles
Golden egg – 125 miles
You have the option to use our online tracker to log your runs as you go – live here on this page from 1 April – or use your own tracking app or device to record your activity. Once you have completed 16 runs (or more) and your target distance, simply submit your results and confirm that you have completed the challenge to receive your medal.

Junior April Challenge
There is a separate April challenge for our junior runners aged 14 years and under, so the whole family can get involved!
We recommend that you use a tracking app to log your running activity during your challenge – any app or watch can be used. You also have the option of using our online tracker to log each run as you go, this is available here on the challenge page from the start of the challenge (1 April).
To use the tracker, and submit your results at the end of the challenge, you will need your unique Great Run ID which can be found in your entry confirmation email.
