Spring Run Solo

This April we want to encourage you to get in touch with nature as we launch our April Accumulator Challenge to celebrate the start of spring and leave you feeling as fresh as a daisy.

Complete a minimum of 12 runs or walks (of any distance) between April 1 and 30 April and earn yourself a tree-mendous seed medal. We’ve also got an optional spring award if you choose to accept the bonus challenge, with a digital certificate up for grabs.

It’s time to put a spring in your step – we promise to do our bit and keep you motivated and moving through April.

Your Challenge

Submit your results or log and track each run as you go

You can start to log activity once the challenge has started.
Enter the last seven digits of your Great Run Solo Registration ID and date of birth to log in.

Your Great Run registration ID is the unique reference number found in your entry confirmation email. e.g. if your reference is ACAP23S4686R5162121, enter 5162121. Help.

Spring into action this April! Complete 12 runs (or more) of any distance and any pace that is comfortable for you.

Optional accumulator distance award

To keep you going this spring, add an extra challenge to your Great Run Solo accumulator. We have a range of different exclusive digital certificates available depending on the distance that you cover.

  • As Fresh as a Daisy – 30 Miles
  • Bloom baby, Bloom – 60 miles
  • Here comes the Sun – 100 miles

Log your April activity with our online tracker which goes live on 1 April. Once you’ve completed all of your challenges, simply submit your results and we’ll have your digital finisher’s certificate with you in a flash. What a re-leaf!

Challenge Extras

If you are looking to add an extra challenge to the Spring Great Run Solo then try incorporating these spring-related activities into your runs.

  • Tree-mendous – Grab a snap of the biggest tree that you come across on your run
  • Life’s a beach – Go for a run along the beach, you could even add some slow-mo to experience the full ‘Chariots of Fire’ fantasy
  • Well rounded – Create some Strava map art in the shape of a flower
  • Spring in your step – Run a PB over any distance in April
  • Barking up the wrong tree – Add hill sprints to one of your runs
  • Space-ial place – Run your favourite route as a treat to yourself
  • Branching out – Add something new to your run to keep it fresh, maybe you want to try a new route or listen to a new artist, shake it up!
  • For what it’s Earth – Go for a run on April 9 to celebrate Easter.

How it works

1 Enter any time until Friday 7 April
2 Start running from 1 April
3 Keep track of your 12 runs
4 Complete the challenge by 30 April
5 Submit your final results to receive your medal

Tracking your
Activity

We recommend that you use a tracking app to log your running activity during your challenge – any app or watch can be used. You also have the option of using our online tracker to log each run as you go, this is available here on the challenge page from the start of the challenge (1 April).

To use the tracker, and submit your results at the end of the challenge, you will need your unique Great Run ID which can be found in your entry confirmation email.

The Reward

April Accumulator Challenge

Complete 12 runs (or more) to earn yourself a cracking medal!

What You Get

Complete the challenge by 30 April and submit your results,  and we’ll send you a unique seed medal to celebrate your achievement. These seed medals are completely handmade from 100% recycled paper and card and filled with wildflower seeds, enabling you to plant them and help the bees.

With a plant-based ribbon, these medals are 100% biodegradable, plastic-free, and lovingly handmade. The medal image is printed on biodegradable materials, it’s even sent to you using biodegradable envelopes and labels.

Digital certificates are available to download (and share!) when you submit your results and are available to download until the results submission deadline on 8 May.
