Distance Challenge

 

Our virtual running distance challenges are designed to keep you racking up the miles over a 7 or 28 day period. Challenges start on a Monday, so you can choose to start on the Monday just gone, or the next Monday in the calendar.  Each challenge costs £10 to join – your entry fee includes a unique finishers medal, access to training plans & tips, and support throughout the challenge. 

The 7 miles in 7 days challenge can be completed in as many or as few runs as you like.  Simply complete 7 miles in total over the 7 day period to complete the challenge.  After all, a mile a day keeps the doctor at bay!  There are three 28 day distance challenges ensuring there is a challenge for all – 50k, 100k and 150k.  The challenge is to reach or exceed the distance total over the 28 day challenge period.  This can be done in as many or as few runs as you like.

Our Junior challenge is for runners aged 14 and under.  The challenge is to complete 7km in 7 days and this total can be completed in as many or as few runs as you like. 

Once you’ve completed the distance or at the end of your challenge period, you need to submit your results in order to complete the challenge and claim your hard-earned medal.  Once you’ve got your shiny new medal hanging around your neck… why not take the next step up & earn your next medal!

The Great Run Solo Challenge is open for all. All challenges start on a Monday and finish on a Sunday.

Complete 1k a day for a week (For junior runners aged 14 and under);

What you get

On completion of your challenge we will send you a shiny Great Run Solo medal to wear with pride. Each distance challenge has a different medal design.  


Please be patient as medals will arrive approx 1 month after you have completed the challenge.For international runners, there is an additional £3.50 charge to cover medal postage..

FAQ

You can join a Great Run Solo challenge at any point.  Challenges start on a Monday, so you can choose to start on the Monday just gone, or the next Monday in the calendar. All of the distance challenges need to be completed within 7 or 28 days of your chosen Monday start date, depending on which challenge you choose. 
All challenges start on a Monday and end on a Sunday. Depending on which challenge you choose, your challenge period will be 7 or 28 days. If you are doing a weekly challenge then the finish deadline is before midnight on Sunday. If you are doing a 28 day challenge then the finish deadline is before midnight on the fourth Sunday. Results can be logged up to 14 days after the finish deadline of your challenge. If results are not submitted within 14 days we will assume the challenge was not completed and you will not receive a medal.
No, you can complete your distance challenge in as many or as few runs as you like.
Yes, if you notify us during your challenge period that you wish to switch challenges, then we will be able to move you to a different challenge. Please email greatrunsolo@greatrun.org We will not be able to move you to a different challenge once your challenge period has ended.
Once you have completed your challenge, you will need to log your results in order to claim your medal. Results can be logged up to 14 days after the finish deadline of your challenge.
