May Accumulator Challenge

We’ve got the final Accumulator challenge for you to conquer in May – THE RUNNERS’ ROADMAP

Entry £15.00

Runners' Roadmap

For over a year we’ve been running solo, but the return of running together is now just around the corner!

We launched our very first Great Run Solo in May 2020 to help keep people moving and motivated through the raft of restrictions.  Since thenover 100,000 people from across the UK have collectively run, jogged and walked an impressive number of miles to complete challenges.

With restrictions easing we’re pressing pause on the Accumulator challenge and focusing our attention on the return of our mass participation events this autumn (be there or be square!).

So as we start to limber up for the real start line, we’ve got a final Accumulator challenge for you to conquer in May.

As it’s the last Great Run Solo Accumulator (for now), this month is going to be a bit different!  So join the challenge, enjoy one more month of running, and earn another wacky medal for your collection…  this one might just be the best one yet!

The challenge starts on 1 May and ends on 31 May.  You can join any time from now until Monday 10 May at 10am, when entries close.

It costs £15 to join – your challenge joining fee includes a unique finishers medal, access to training plans & tips, access to our online tracking tool, and support throughout the challenge.

The Challenge

Complete 15 Runs

To conquer the challenge you have to complete 15 runs (or more) and navigate all four steps of our Runners Roadmap.
You don’t need to submit evidence as you navigate each step of the Runners’ Roadmap, but if you share your pics with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #GreatRunSolo and you could win one of our weekly prizes.

Complete the challenge and you will be rewarded with a unique finisher’s medal and digital certificate.  There’s also an optional distance challenge, with a bespoke digital certificate awarded to anyone who completes a distance award.

Step 1  (1-9 May)

Get back on track

Running tracks are back open so your challenge is to run a mile as quickly as you can.  1 mile is 4 laps of a 400m track (plus about 10 metres), so head down to your local track, or create your own 400m circuit, and get running!  Share a pic of your workout for a chance to win a free Great Run event entry.

Step 2  (10-16 May)

Pub trail

Pubs are back openhooray!  Plot a route that passes 5 pubs (or more!) and swig a selfie at each for a chance to win a CLIF Training Pack.  CHEERS!

Step 3  (1723 May)

Hair raising running

Barbers and hairdressers are back open to rescue all the shoddy haircuts on show.  Run past a hairdresser or barber and snip a selfie for a chance to win a Great Run Solo t-shirt.  Bonus points if you can get the barber / hairdresser to give a wave…

Step 4  (24-31 May)

Social distancing

Clock up some miles with a running pal (or two, three, four, five) and snap a socially distanced selfie for a chance to win a Great Run Solo t-shirt.

(Optional) Accumulator Distance Award

There are three optional distance challenges. Depending on the distance you cover over your 15 (or more!) runs, we will award you a bespoke digital finishers certificate to download and share:

  • YOU TOOK THE HIGH ROAD – 35 Miles
  • ARE WE THERE YET? – 70 miles
  • ON THE ROAD TO GREATNESS – 125 miles

You can use our online tracker to log your runs – live from 1 May – or use your own tracking app or device to record your activity.

Once you have completed 15 runs (or more) and your target distance, simply submit your results and confirm that you have completed the challenge.
