Join thousands of your friends and neighbours at the Great Birmingham Run this year and kick-start Birmingham’s summer of sport. Be a trailblazer and run the route that the world’s elite will follow, starting in the heart of the city and passing iconic city landmarks including the Bullring, Edgbaston, Cannon Hill Park, and Digbeth.
It’s a run for everyone, of all ages and abilities, whether it’s your first 10k or your 50th half marathon. An inclusive celebration of Brummy running, with music blazing, crowds buzzing, legs pumping and fists bumping. The city comes alive on Great Birmingham Run weekend.
We support you from the get-go with training plans & advice, race day prep and motivation every step of the way. We roar you across the finish line and applaud your success in the event village. It’s an event day experience like no other.
Great Birmingham Run entries are open to runners aged 15+ (10k) and 17+ (Half marathon) on the day of the event.

We will communicate with all rollover entrants by email on 3 November. If you rolled over your entry and did not receive an email, or you are unsure as to whether you rolled over your entry, please contact us here.
Great Birmingham Run

The 10k route starts in the city centre and takes runners past the iconic Bullring, and out along Pershore Road to the beautiful Cannon Hill Park which marks the half way point – runners then loop round the world famous Edgbaston Cricket Ground and past Calthorpe Park, before a final section through Digbeth before the grandstand city centre finish.
The Half marathon route follows the 10k route out along Pershore Road, turning right through Selly Park before heading out towards Bourneville which marks the half way point – then joins the 10k route at Cannon Hill Park, passing Edgbaston, Calthorpe Park on the homestretch into the city centre for the grandstand finish.

The greatest reward in taking part is the sense of achievement as you cross the finish line, but by taking your place on the Great Birmingham Run start line, you’re already part of something really special. Acorns Children’s Hospice provides care, support, fun and laughter for life limited and life threatened babies, children and young people and support for their families. In the past year Acorns has cared for over 821 children across the West Midlands from its three hospices, within the family home and the community.When a child’s life is limited, family time is precious. Birmingham St Mary's Hospice provides specialist end of life care for patients and families from Birmingham and Sandwell who are living with a terminal illness. This year it will cost £8 million to deliver care to over 1000 patients. We couldn't raise these vital funds without the generosity of people like you.
