SOLGAR’S GUIDE TO SUPPLEMENTS

The Official Wellness Partner of AJ Bell Great Run Series, Solgar create the finest nutritional supplements using only the best, responsibly-sourced raw ingredients designed around what your body needs – not whatโ€™s trending.

And so, weโ€™re delighted to welcome two members of #TeamSolgar – Paul Chamberlain, Product Training Director, and Ian Marber, independent Nutrition Consultant and Solgar ambassador โ€“ to share their knowledge and expertise, so that you can benefit from their training tips and expert nutritional advice.

Paul Chamberlain

Paul has over 30 years of experience working with food supplements and has a passion for helping people achieve their health and wellness goals. He leads the Category Development team across a range of supplement brands, including Solgar, for Nestle Health Science. Paul has an MSc in Sport and Exercise Nutrition and as a keen runner enjoys applying sports nutrition principles to his own training and racing. Having started running initially to gain some head space and time in nature Paul discovered that he also enjoyed the challenge of training for specific races and has since completed 16 marathons, with a best of 2:44, five ultras, and a host of other trail and road races.

Ian Marber

Ian Marber is one of the most experienced and well-regarded nutrition therapists in the UK. He is a best-selling author, award winning health writer and consultant and is known for his practical and balanced approach. As a nutrition therapist, health journalist and author, Ian has been advising clients and readers about diet, nutrition and supplements for some 25 years. He has acted as an advisor for various brands, most recently being appointed as an ambassador and advisor to Solgar.

Supplements to Support your Running Journey

“What supplements should I be taking when Iโ€™m training?โ€ is a question that Paul Chamberlain, Product Training Director at Solgar, is often asked. The answer, Paul says, depends on a runnerโ€™s existing lifestyle and diet. Here, Paul explains his foundation first approach to supplements, with suggestions for some that meet runners needs.
