Cup semi-finals (and dare we say it… finals!) are quite rare in the North East, so we’re getting a little bit excited here at Great Run HQ. What’s more, our founder Sir Brendan Foster is a diehard Magpies fan. To celebrate Newcastle’s run to the Semis we gave away a free Great North Run entry for every goal scored by Newcastle United on Tuesday 24 January. We randomly selected a winner and they have been contacted via email.
AND we’re doing it again for the second leg of the competition!
Enter the Great North Run ballot before kick-off next Tuesday (8pm, 31st Jan) to be part of the draw to win a free GNR entry.

Terms and conditions apply
- One (1) free AJ Bell Great North Run (GNR) entry will be awarded for every goal scored by Newcastle United in the Southampton vs Newcastle United Carabao Cup Semi Final match on Tuesday 31 January 2023.
- This includes goals scored within the first 90 minutes only and does not include goals scored during extra time or penalties.
- Winners will be selected at random from the entire list of GNR ballot entries.
- To be eligible for the prize you must have entered the GNR ballot by 20:00 on Tuesday 31 January 2023 (match kick-off).
- The prize is one (1) free entry into the Great North Run only, it does not include merchandise of any kind.
- This prize does not include travel or accommodation.
- Winners will be removed from the ballot process and given a free entry into the event – prize winners will be notified via email.
- This prize is not transferrable, refundable, cannot be exchanged for the monetary value of the race or passed on to another person.
- Competition entrants must be 17 or over and a UK resident.
- Entry to this competition excludes employees or agents of The Great Run Company and/or anyone professionally connected with the promotion and their immediate families.
