Great just got greater at this year’s Great Manchester Run
The countdown is on to the Great Manchester Run, one of the UKs biggest and best running events. It’s a run for everyone, from locals to celebrated athletes, whether it’s your first 10k or your 50th half marathon.
The event is already famous for its city centre route, buzzing atmosphere, iconic music zones, Mancunian spirit, and live BBC television coverage, but it’s about to get even better!
We’re pulling out all of the stops to make this year the best yet – new for 2022, runners can look forward to:
A live start line DJ. An awesome DJ truck will be pumping out a high energy set to help runners find their groove for the challenge ahead. Expect motivation levels to sky-rocket as you cross that start line.
Timed pacers powered by music! Our awesome pacers are always on hand to give runners the best possible chance of smashing out a personal best, but this year the TalkTalk pacers will be setting the pace for Manchester and blasting out tunes all along the course to keep motivation high.
New high-energy (and slightly bonkers) cheer zones. We’ve lined up over 20 rocking on course music & entertainment zones to keep legs pumping and smiles on faces. They’re all great, but the new Run Thru Madchester Zone is the wackiest of them all!
Supersized medals! Get ready for one or two post-race selfies with our bigger and better medals, featuring an exclusive design that encapsulates everything that makes Manchester great.
Bee-autiful finisher t-shirts. The snazziest t-shirts in town are a just reward for our runners as they cross the finish line. Did someone say hive-five?
A post-race party! Runners, families and friends can kick back, relax and enjoy the post-race celebrations in our new Après Run zone. The afterparty will feature more great music as well as food and drink stalls. Full details to be announced soon!
