2023 AJ Bell GREAT NORTH RUN
If you are unable to run and have to withdraw from the 2023 AJ Bell Great North Run, we will guarantee you an entry for the 2024 event. Please note that entry fees are not refundable under any circumstances (see terms and conditions), however, we do offer the option to apply for a guaranteed entry for the following year.
Once an entrant has committed to withdraw their entry they cannot be reinstated into the event.
Race numbers have already been allocated. If you receive your race number after you have withdrawn your entry there is no need to return this to us – you must destroy it. If we subsequently find that a withdrawn race number has been used the entrant forfeits their guaranteed entry in the subsequent years’ event.
In order to secure your guaranteed place in 2024, you must meet the deadlines outlined in the withdrawal process and pay the entry fee for the 2024 event.
We will contact you via email in November 2023 with details of how to register and pay for your guaranteed place (please ensure you keep the email on our records up to date). Great Run cannot be held responsible for unreceived emails; if you have not heard anything by December regarding your 2024 entry it is your responsibility to get in touch with us to request entry information.
Withdraw Your Entry
To withdraw your AJ Bell Great North Run entry please complete the form below. You will need to select your entry type from the drop down, and include your unique booking reference (see guide below), along with your name, email address and date of birth.
Ballot & Priority Entry
If you entered the Great North Run via the ballot or Great North Run member ptiority entry on letsdothis.com, you will need to enter the 24 character booking reference found in the email from Let’s Do This confirming your successful entry. For example: 628a0e9ac7eb77ac64ac29ed.
Other Entry (charity or tokens)
If you secured your place through a charity or similar organisation using a token, you will need to enter the last 7 digits of the unique registration ID found in your confirmation email from Great Run. For example: GNR122S4156R4538673, you would enter 4538673.
All withdrawal requests must be submitted no later than 6pm on Saturday 9 September.
Where can I find my booking reference/registration ID?
This can be found in your confirmation email.
- Booking reference from Let’s Do This: The email from Let’s Do This confirming that you entered the ballot was sent from email@example.com.
- Registration ID from Great Run: If you secured your entry via a charity, GNR membership scheme or entry token, the confirmation email was sent from firstname.lastname@example.org.
Contact us here if you are having trouble finding this, and a member of our team can confirm this for you. Please include your full name, date of birth and postcode so that we can find your entry.
What do I need to do if my race number arrives in the post?
Since race numbers have already been allocated, we cannot stop your number from being sent out to you. They are due to arrive with participants approx. 2 weeks prior to the event weekend. There is no need to return this race number to us, so please destroy it. We will be doing checks, and if a withdrawn race number is subsequently used the entrant forfeits their guaranteed entry into the following year’s event.
I have requested to withdraw my entry, what happens next?
We will be contacting everyone who has requested to withdraw their entry by email in November, with instructions of how to register and pay for their guaranteed entry into the following year’s event. Please make sure the contact email address we have for you is correct and contact us here if you have not heard from us by December, as we will need to get your entry secured before we open the AJ Bell Great North Run ballot in early January.
