The extremely popular Simplyhealth Junior and Mini Great North Run has reached its entry limit in record time for 2017.
After unprecedented demand, the Mini event reached its capacity of 3,500 in September, just 12 days after it opened.
The Junior event has now reached its limit just days before the Simplyhealth Great North Run general ballot opens.
6,500 young runners will pound the pavements in the UK’s biggest children’s running event on the NewcastleGateshead Quayside on Saturday 9 September 2017.
The budding athletes and fun runners will run across the famous Great North CityGames track as part of their 1.5km and 4km courses, for ages 3-16, the day before the Simplyhealth Great North Run.
The exclusive entry ballot for the first 3,000 places in the 2017 Simplyhealth Great North Run will be held with The Times and The Sunday Times from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th January.
The ballot for the Simplyhealth Great North Run opens on Monday, January 9.
To register for the ballot prospective applicants should go to www.greatrun.org. The ballot will close at noon on Monday February 6th with all applicants being notified by email on or before Thursday 9th February.
