The AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run is back, bigger and better on Sunday 5 May with a SOLD-OUT event.
Starting and finishing in the heart of the city, runners can expect inspiring sights, iconic landmarks and incredible local support all along the 10k and half marathon route. With a finish line DJ, rocking on-course music zones and an event village that feels more like an after-party – the carnival atmosphere and spirit are uniquely Birmingham.
We’re pulling out all the stops to make this year’s event the best yet, so here are just some of the reasons to be excited ahead of the big day.
Fantastic Finisher Goodies! Selfies at the ready with the 2024 finisher medal. Get ready to wear it with pride for a whole week (at least)! Plus, this year’s extra cool t-shirt is a just reward for runners as they cross the finish line.
Timed pacers powered by music! Our pacing team are always on hand to give runners the best possible chance of smashing out a personal best, and this year the Solgar pacers will be blasting out tunes all along the course to keep motivation high.
Party on course! With rocking music zones & live bands at every turn, roaring charity cheering squads, plus the incredible local support who line the streets to cheer you on, it’s an experience like no other.
Brilliant Bands on the Run! No one brings the noise as much as our fantastic bands on the run. This year Christie Reeves & Tom Walker, Rock Choir, Drums Aloud, Azaad Arts and Second City Sax will be the soundtrack to the run.
Unrivalled on-course entertainment! We’ve pulled out all the stops to ensure runners will be entertained from start to finish. Yshee Black and Pork Pie will be blasting out the classics at our Karaoke Kicks zone, whilst Oya Batacuda will be entertaining the masses at the TUI Live Happy Runway. Our ‘Beats Boost’ and ‘Pump it Up’ DJ trucks will keep those legs pumping until the very end of the race.
Après Run = Après fun! Runners, families and friends can kick back, relax and enjoy the post-race celebrations in our Après Run zone, with a live DJ turning up the feelgood!
Fun for all the family. Calling all kids who love to run; on your marks, get set, go! The Junior & Mini events are for ages 3-15 and offer high-energy fun from beginning to end, plus crazy costumes and high fives. And that’s all before you reach the finish line, where you’ll receive an exclusive finisher medal.
A memorable Mascot Race! New for 2024, be sure to check out this year’s Mascot Race. Taking part at 8:10 am, just before the Junior and Mini races start. Head to Smithfield and watch on as 10 mascots battle it out for the win, including a giant tortoise, a bear and a hedgehog.
Support from the start line to the finish line. The amazing people of Birmingham will be turned out in their thousands to cheer runners on from the start until the finish, shouting out your name at every turn.
