The AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run is back, bigger and better on Sunday 7 May with a brilliant new route.
Starting and finishing in the heart of the city, runners can expect inspiring sights, iconic landmarks and incredible local support all along the 10k and half marathon route.
It’s not just the brilliant new route to get runners excited: with a start line DJ, rocking on-course music zones and an event village that feels more like an after-party – the carnival atmosphere and spirit is uniquely Birmingham.
We’re pulling out all the stops to make this year’s event the best yet, so here are just some of the reasons why this should be your next great challenge:
Brilliant Brum Bling! Selfies at the ready with the 2023 finisher medal. Get ready to wear it with pride for a whole week (at least)!
Terrific t-shirt. This year’s extra cool t-shirt is a just reward for runners as they cross the finish line. The event village will be a sea of blue as runners don their favourite new fashion item sporting some of the key landmarks on the route!
Timed pacers powered by music! Our pacing team are always on hand to give runners the best possible chance of smashing out a personal best, but this year the TalkTalk pacers will be blasting out tunes all along the course to keep motivation high.
Party on course. With rocking music zones & live bands at every turn, roaring charity cheering squads, plus the incredible local support who line the streets to cheer you on, it’s an experience like no other.
Après Run = Après fun! Runners, families and friends can kick back, relax and enjoy the post-race celebrations in our Après Run zone, with a live DJ turning up the feelgood!
Fun for all the family. Calling all kids who love to run; on your marks, get set, go! The Junior & Mini events are for ages 3-16 and offer high-energy fun from beginning to end, plus crazy costumes and high fives. And that’s all before you reach the finish line, where you’ll receive an exclusive finisher medal.
Support from sign-up to the finish line. We offer support from the get-go with training plans & advice, race day prep and motivation every step of the way, you will be roared across the finish line and applauded in the event village once you’ve conquered the challenge.
Birmingham comes alive on race day, and there’s still time to sign up and be part of the action. Whether it’s the start line butterflies, doing something incredible for charity, or strangers shouting your name, you have to be there to feel the feeling.
So set yourself a challenge, be part of something special and earn an epic medal. Take your place on the AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run start line on Sunday 7 May.
