Simplyhealth Great Newham London Family Run

Entries for the 2017 Simplyhealth Great Newham London Family Run on Sunday 2 July are now open!

Children aged 5 years old and up can enjoy their own Olympic finish line moment as they take part in a shorter distance run in and around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

London 2012 Olympic legends such as Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Usain Bolt crossed over the finish line inside the Stadium, and now it's time for the younger ones to get excited about running and take centre stage. Each entry includes 2 spectator places so family and friends can come and cheer from the seats inside the former Olympic Stadium where the runners will finish.

Please note: To participate in the Family Run, children under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult (aged 18 or over).

The Course

Starting on South Park Lawn the 2k route includes bands on the run and a tunnel of sound before heading inside the Stadium to finish on its famous running track.

All participants will be rewarded with their very own medal as soon as they cross over the finish line.

Event location

As one of the most vibrant and multicultural boroughs in England, Newham is well worth a visit. A trip to east London is even more essential since it took centre-stage as the host of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Newham is home to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park where there is a wealth of sporting activities on offer to visitors. Take a dip in the ‘pool of champions’ at the London Aquatics Centre, or show off your pedal-power in Lee Valley VeloPark.

The Simplyhealth Great Newham London Run will finish inside the most recognisable venue in the Park – the Stadium.

Our own ‘Super Sunday’ will be created as we see thousands of runners cross the finish line on the running track inside the Stadium to a wall of applause and support given by runners’ friends and family spectating from the arena seats.
